3rd Battalion Marines run the "Motivation Run" in anticipation of their graduation from Parris Island tomorrow.

The Drill Instructor answers Vince's question. Don't worry, Vince requested permission to speak.

The educators are filled in on the day to day life of a recruit in the "squad bay".

Vince is the first to volunteer and complete a rope swing across a gap on the obstacle course. Unfortunately, he was little TOO motivated. Some of the skin from his hands is still attached to that rope!

Vince and the educators get trained in different ways to kill somebody with a bayonet. Good times!

Vince scores a strike on the Marine he's fighting in a mock bayonet bout! Thank goodness that's all it was!

DAY 2 - Yellow footprints...

Day 2 on Parris Island has ended, and although it may have been Day 2, it felt a LOT like a new recruit's Day 1, as we were introduced to the infamous yellow footprints that greet all future enlisted Marines who brave the Island.

"GET OFF MY BUS!"

You can't see the yellow footprints under our feet, but they're there! I promise! And you better believe our feet weren't moving until we got the order to move. (And yes, Vince is recording this moment, so don't mind his out of order arm being up!)

Getting processed... All recruits have to go through an initial processing, including a nice amount of paperwork and a new hairdo! (Heads shaved naturally! Shane has that part down.)

Vince gets a moment to interview Recruit Taggart from Jacksonville, NC, who is on Day 32 of the MCRD Parris Island training cycle.

Shane finally gets his hands on an M16 and lays waste to a field of innocent targets.

Shane Willis and Vince Coglianese have begun a fateful journey. We're on an Educator and Media Workshop at Parris Island, SC all week to see where Marines are made. Tomorrow the real fun begins as we hit the famed YELLOW FOOTPRINTS!

A few photos of our first day. We learned the basics of formations and drill. And more importantly... we learned how to get yelled at by a Drill Instructor! More images (and yes... AUDIO) to come in the days ahead! Stay tuned.

In the wake of the recently completed one-stop-voting week in Ohio, many allegations of registration, as well as voter fraud have begun to crop up.

Tiffany Wilson, along with her fellow student reporters at Palestra.net have begun to peel back the surface of what may be rampant voter fraud in the state of Ohio. Palestra has received national attention for its work in discovering voter registration issues surround non-partisan registration groups like "Faith Vote Columbus" and the now infamous "ACORN".

Additionally, Palestra has confirmed that a group called "Vote From Home" participated in fraudulently registering and voting their transient members who claim no 'real' residency in the state of Ohio.

New York Times - Q&A with Charles Murray – Author of “Real Education” – Murray believes only 20% of students are capable of understanding their education. The rest should be finding work when they leave high school that fits their skill set.

USA Today – Survey done by Kaplan Test Prep and Admission shows that 10% of admissions officials surveyed check social networking sites of student applicants. 25% of the findings have a positive impact on developing a student impression. 38% have had a negative impact.
